• COBC moved out of an inconvenient location in Richmond to an easily accessible and visible office in Vancouver;
• COBC events attract large numbers of participants. For example, a record-breaking 480 Opticians attended the 2006 Annual General Meeting;
• COBC is an organization that works well: 
  • it is responsive to the needs of public interest and government direction, holds outreach and consultation sessions with its members;
  • mediates complaints from the public;
  • participates at meaningful level in national Opticianry meetings; and is receptive to national and international mobility;
• COBC administrative staff are cheerful to hear from you and answer your concerns;
• COBC is dedicated to relevant and open communication through its website, newsletters and reports;
• COBC provides timely information to its members, while at the same time fulfilling its mandate of public protection.
