Graduates from a Recognized Program 

After completing an accredited program, graduates may apply to write the National Alliance for Canadian Optician Regulators (NACOR) exam for Dispensing and Contact Lens Fitting. Once the exam is passed, graduates have one year to apply for registration with COBC.

The National Accreditation Committee of Opticians (NACO) reviews programs annually and reassess every six years.

Steps for registration:
  1. Pass the NACOR exam
  2. Complete an online application for registration ** please be advise the College is NOT accepting online applications between February 5, 2020 and February 18, 2020. All new applicants must submit an application on or after February 18, 2020.
  3. Complete a supplemental package to submit via email, fax or post. 
  4. Submit an application for a Criminal Record Check
